(some of) The Music of the decade

It’s been a very good decade for music. Various genres blossomed into fully fledged music industry standards. The industry crippled itself in the face of digital distribution while Apple Computers, Inc. made us think different, becoming the leader in music sales globally (almost).

I’ve loved a lot of music in this decade, most of which isn’t mentioned in this post. There’s not enough room but by no means is this a “best of”, just a list of albums I’ve revisited to remember the decade. Depressingly enough it’s hard to believe some of the stuff that was released earlier on.

A lot of notable absences exist here, like Rammstein, Tool or Daft Punk. There’s a lot of genre-hopping too, but you get the idea. A lot of cool shit has come out. And funnily enough, and hopefully not by any coincidence, 2009 is the year I discovered an incredible amount of new, and truly brilliant music. Music I hope to post here at some point. I provided YouTube clips for everyone to enjoy, so do check out these bands. In some cases, have an open mind. If you think something else was better in a particular year, pop it into the comments!
