The funniest thing on twitter in a long while

Twitter has evolved from a small micro-chasm of community-based blogger nattering to a huge massive global movement towards open communication akin to SMS texting. It keeps evolving, too, with the recent addition of GPS tagging tweets and lists to group together twitterers with similar interests in your own follow-list.

And today, I was made aware of the next step in twitter evolution: public places. That’s right, London’s main attraction, Big Ben (a clock) has joined twitter, and boy does he have something to say!

Possibly born out of a local worker who’s sick to death of hearing it, or a city initative to bring hilarious tweets to the world – either way, it made me laugh. Of course, there’s not a chance in hell I’ll join the fifty-something followers. I’ll just laugh when someone re-tweets the inane bings and bongs.

You can follow the clock by going through to @big_ben_clock… if you so wish.
